Facebook has a 'Donate' button option that allows for easy fundraising for a cause. Should I use that?

No, do not add Facebook’s Donate button to your posts because it will not link to your One Foot Forward profile and fundraising page correctly.

If you wish to use Facebook to fundraise you will need to create a Facebook fundraising page, this can be done by clicking the 'Create a Facebook fundraiser' button on your One Foot Forward Dashboard.

This will allow for any donations from Facebook to be counted towards your fundraising total. Any donations received after the setting up the Facebook Fundraiser will appear on your Facebook Fundraiser and your One Foot Forward fundraising page.

To create a One Foot Forward Facebook fundraiser in your Dashboard:

1. Log into your dashboard: https://www.onefootforward.org.au/login/event
2. In the header banner click ‘Create Facebook Fundraiser’
3. Follow the prompts to create your One Foot Forward fundraiser
4. Share with your friends on Facebook and remember to give a shout out to your donors to encourage further support.

Note: If you create a Facebook Fundraiser on Facebook directly (without following the steps from your dashboard), donations received will not appear on your fundraising page. Don't worry though your contributions are not lost – Black Dog Institute will still receive funds raised this way, and they will go towards the important work of making a mentally healthier world for all Australians.
